How Your Cleaning Assessment Works
At Fresh & Shiny Cleaning Services, we believe you should know exactly what you’re booking.
Our Smart Cleaning Assessment helps us understand your property, its current condition and the cleaning services you need. Whether you need one bathroom, a detailed kitchen cleaning, selected rooms or your entire home cleaned, it helps you define the Scope of Work and receive a quotation based on your selected services.
You Don’t Have to Book Your Entire Home
Request one bathroom, a kitchen, kitchen and bathrooms, one or more bedrooms, selected living spaces, multiple chosen areas or your entire home. The service category and price reflect the work requested.
Selecting Deep Cleaning does not automatically include every room. To request whole-home cleaning, select all relevant rooms and areas.
Only the cleaning areas and tasks listed in your confirmed Scope of Work are included in your service.
Four ways to choose your cleaning
Kitchen only
Select the kitchen and any required interior appliance services.
Bathrooms, bedrooms and living spaces are not included.
Bathrooms only
Select each bathroom type and the number you want cleaned.
The kitchen, bedrooms and living areas are excluded unless separately selected.
Entire-home Deep Cleaning
Select every required bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living area, hallway, staircase and other applicable space.
Appliance interiors and specialized services still need explicit selection and confirmation.
Move-In Cleaning
Select the areas of your empty property requiring cleaning before you move in.
Interior appliances, cabinet interiors and other specialized work are included only when explicitly selected and confirmed.
Your assessment, step by step
From property details to your confirmed cleaning plan.
Step 1 — Enter Your Property Information
Provide accurate property type, approximate square footage, number of levels, bedrooms and bathroom types, occupancy status, pets and relevant conditions. If you are unsure about the size, use the assessment’s “not sure” option rather than guessing.
The total number of rooms describes your property; it does not automatically determine which rooms are included in the quotation.
Step 2 — Choose Your Cleaning Service
- Regular & Recurring House Cleaning
Ongoing maintenance is available only after the required initial Fresh & Shiny Deep or Heavy-Duty & Restoration Cleaning, subject to the applicable service commitment policies.
- Deep Cleaning Services
A detailed cleaning reset for the selected areas, beyond routine maintenance. Severe buildup and restoration work need the appropriate service and confirmed scope.
- Move-In & Move-Out Cleaning
Cleaning selected areas of an empty property before or after a move. If belongings remain, tell us so the appropriate cleaning can be planned.
- Post-Construction Cleaning
For construction or renovation dust in the selected areas. Describe the work, remaining debris and whether contractors have finished.
- Heavy-Duty & Restoration Cleaning
For significant or heavy buildup and neglected surfaces requiring restoration-level work, subject to assessment.
Review the applicable service and recurring commitment policies.
- Regular & Recurring House Cleaning
Step 3 — Select Every Area You Want Cleaned
Select the relevant area categories and quantities. Only selected areas are included in your Scope of Work.
If your property has four bedrooms but you select only one bedroom, only that selected bedroom is included.
If you request Move-In Cleaning and select the bathrooms but not the kitchen, the kitchen will not automatically be included.
Step 4 — Describe the Property’s Actual Condition
Tell us about well-maintained surfaces, pet hair, accumulated dust, grease buildup, soap scum, hard-water deposits, heavy dirt or neglected areas. This helps plan the workload and appropriate service.
A well-maintained home can still require Deep Cleaning. Condition does not automatically change a detailed service into Regular Maintenance Cleaning. Significant or heavy buildup may require Heavy-Duty & Restoration Cleaning rather than ordinary Deep Cleaning.
Step 5 — Select Additional Services
Available selections include interior ovens and refrigerators, kitchen cabinet and drawer interiors, bathroom vanity and storage interiors, closet interiors and shelving, furniture detail cleaning and upholstery detail cleaning. Relevant options appear according to your selected areas; describe quantities and condition when asked.
Interior cabinets and drawers must be emptied; closet shelving must be accessible and clear. For walk-in closets, select the applicable closet option and describe any unusual scope for office review.
The selectable “Decluttering and room reset” service covers tidying and returning loose items to place. It is not a blanket organization service. For general organization, handling stored contents, heavy furniture moving or a service not shown, request a custom scope from the office. Availability, work and pricing need assessment and approval.
Step 6 — Please Have Your Home Ready for Cleaning
Have selected areas reasonably accessible before the team arrives:
- Remove loose clothing, toys and shoes from floors.
- Keep countertops reasonably clear.
- Make every selected room accessible.
- Secure personal valuables and fragile belongings.
- Arrange safe access around pets.
- Ensure required water and electricity are available.
Organizing belongings, decluttering, moving heavy furniture, cleaning inside closets and handling stored contents are not automatically included. These tasks may require additional assessment, labour and approved pricing.
Step 7 — Share Photos of the Current Condition
Clear, recent photos of selected areas and any buildup help us understand the work and prepare more accurate estimates. Add them when available or requested. Photos are not universally mandatory; follow any photo requirements shown for your particular service.
Step 8 — Review Your Scope of Work
Check every selected area, quantity, cleaning task, extra service and exclusion. Use the Scope of Work review below before completing your booking.
Step 9 — Review Your Quote and Request Your Booking
Review your quoted price, available booking dates where enabled and applicable deposit requirements. A quote or assessment submission is not automatically a confirmed booking.
Fresh & Shiny determines team size according to property size, condition and selected work. Your quotation does not promise fixed working hours or a fixed number of cleaners.
Your Scope of Work Is Your Cleaning Plan
It identifies the areas and cleaning tasks included in your service. Before completing your booking, please review your Scope of Work carefully.
- Are all the rooms and areas you want cleaned listed?
- Are the bathroom types, room counts and extra-service quantities correct?
- Are required appliance and storage interiors explicitly included?
- Have you reviewed the tasks, exclusions and preparation requirements?
Areas, appliance interiors, organizing tasks or additional services not included in the confirmed Scope of Work are not automatically part of your cleaning.
The team completes an initial scope and condition verification. Any additional work or price adjustment requires your approval. If something is missing, update your assessment before booking or contact the office about an existing booking.
Common assessment questions
Can I book cleaning for only one room?
Yes. Select the area you need and the appropriate service. Your quotation reflects the selected work and any applicable service minimum, not an automatic whole-home cleaning.
Can I book a deep cleaning for my kitchen only?
Yes. Choose Deep Cleaning and select the kitchen. Select any required appliance or cabinet interiors separately, and check the confirmed Scope of Work.
Does Deep Cleaning automatically include the entire home?
No. Only the cleaning areas and tasks listed in your confirmed Scope of Work are included in your service.
How do I request whole-home cleaning?
Select all relevant areas and their quantities. Your property’s total bedroom or bathroom count does not automatically select those rooms for cleaning.
Are oven and refrigerator interiors included?
Not automatically. Select the relevant interior appliance service and describe its condition. It must appear in the confirmed Scope of Work.
What happens if I forget to select a room?
Before booking, go back and update the selected areas and review the revised quotation. If you have already booked, contact the office to request a scope change. Additional work and any price adjustment require your approval.
Does Well Maintained mean Regular Cleaning?
No. A well-maintained home can still need Deep Cleaning. Condition helps plan the work; it does not automatically change a detailed service into maintenance cleaning. Recurring maintenance also requires the initial qualifying Fresh & Shiny service.
Do I need to organize my home before the cleaners arrive?
Selected areas should be reasonably accessible, with loose belongings removed from floors and countertops reasonably clear. General organizing, handling stored contents and moving heavy furniture are not automatically included.
Can I request additional services?
Yes. Select available extras in the assessment. For general organization, heavy furniture moving, unusual closet or storage work, or an option you cannot find, contact the office for assessment and an approved custom scope.
Does completing an assessment confirm my booking?
No. An assessment or quotation is not a confirmed booking. Review your Scope of Work, quoted price, available dates where enabled and applicable deposit requirements, then complete the existing booking process.
